Elizabeth Bond was born on a Native American reservation in Minnesota some time after the middle of the last century. She attended school in the Minneapolis suburbs, and after being awarded a Miss America talent scholarship, studied music and romance languages at the University of Minnesota and voice at MacPhail College of Music. She toured North America with several prominent cabaret groups - most notably VI Park East and The Brandywine Singers.
After moving to England she attended the Royal College of Music in London where she received the ARCM Performance Diploma. Ms. Bond has performed the major roles in the standard mezzo-soprano opera and concert repertoire at leading venues including Holland Park Opera and the Minack Theatre. In addition she sang Gertrude in the highly acclaimed London performance of Thomas’ Hamlet produced by international opera impresario Alan Sievewright. She also sang the part of Matilde and covered Julia Migenes in the title role of Donizetti's Caterina Cornaro, conducted by Richard Bonynge and available on CD. For more than two years, she sang in the London company of The Phantom of the Opera at Her Majesty's Theatre, performing the role of Madame Giry. Ms. Bond was a featured soloist in the "Opera Spectacular for the Millennium" celebrations at The Royal Albert Hall. She has given other London concerts at Queen Elizabeth Hall, Royal Festival Hall, St. James's Palace, St. John's Smith Square, The Dorchester, Grosvenor House, The Landmark London and The Savoy. Beyond the U.S. and U.K, she has performed in Belgium, France, Italy (Taormina, Parma and Modena), Spain and Turkey. Ms. Bond often performs in operas and concerts with the Crested Butte Music Festival in Colorado. Since 2000, she has performed the title role in Carmen, Madame Popova in The Bear, Prince Orlofsky in Die Fledermaus, Maddalena in Rigoletto and Berta in Il Barbiere di Siviglia.
Since 1997, Ms. Bond has produced and performed in a musical revue, The Dueling Divas, with soprano Lori Isley Lynn. The Dueling Divas have appeared at many venues in the United States and Europe in shows titled Women on Top, Sisters, Saints and Sinners, The Dueling Divas Make Love Around the World, The Dueling Divas Uncensored and The Dueling Divas as Molly Brown and Other Colorful Characters of Colorado. Their programs feature arias and duets from operas, operettas and musicals as well as novelty and comedy selections and songs from the great 20th century popular composers. Working primarily in England, Ms. Bond is also an experienced stage, television and screen actress. She appeared in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire as a Wizard Woman disguised as a Muggle Mother.
In the 2007 movie, The Bourne Ultimatum, Ms. Bond performed the role of the wife of the Director of the CIA. During the summer of 2007, she sang the role of Zita in The Crested Butte Music Festival’s production of Gianni Schicchi. In July of 2009 she will sing the role of Maman in L’enfant et les sortileges for the Crested Butte Music Festival’s childrens’ opera production. In February of 2007 she was appointed Managing Director of the Crested Butte Mountain Theatre, one of Colorado’s longest established community theatres, with well over 200 productions since 1972.
